Working in 3D was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in school. Don’t get me wrong I can do 3D its just a tough program. On top of that their just is not enough time to learn everything 3D has to offer in a life time.
I built an entire city block and made this robot ” a Dalek from doctor who” Move down the street. It took me a week but i got it done
3D can be fun but its rough and time consuming to say the least.
This album cover was made for a project i had in a class at University. Going to school for design has shown me that photoshop can be used for more then you can design anything in photoshop really. Its not just an editing program. Dont get me wrong their are other programs you can use and do a lot more in but photoshop will get it done for you.
I made the above poster in Adobe illustrator.Illustrator is one of my favorite programs, the pen tool the program has is just amazing, its one thing the program has over photoshop. Yes i know their is a pen tool in photoshop but illustrator’s pen tool is ahead of photoshops trust me. the few freelance jobs i’ve done this passed year forced me into illustrator, as someone who was mainly had his head in photoshop it was an eye opener to say the least, i never realized what illustrator had to offer designer. One job i had taken on relied heavy on the pen tool for jagged lines. This was my first job and i was only in school for two months at the time. this is now about a year old at this point, at the time i was super happy with it and the client was as well.
This was my first time really using Illustrator, Now i love it and use it for any vector based designs.
A the end of the day I went to a University for Design and if i don’t do anything with that degree I feel like thats a waist. Not that study Graphic Design hasn’t helped with my photography, it as and learning more about photoshop has helped with my editing but i still love the artistic part of design and being able to use other programs like illustrator is handy. I made the following tattoo design in Adobe Illustrator with the Pen Tool
its given me another income source that has helped me out while in school tremendously doing freelance work and making $200 here and there for tings like a logo , or a T-shirt design, or even a business card
So even though photography is where i want to go, i know for a fact i will use my degree as a graphic designer
I have always loved photography. i don’t care if i’m shooting a scene in the middle of a town
or out in the woods.
It doesn’t matter where i am or what i’m doing with my life i just love to have a camera in my hands. Nothing gives me the same rush i feel being out on a trail in the woods looking trough my lens at a gator or a bird just capturing that moment. Photography is and alway will be a passion of mine. i realize that now more then ever, this is what i want to do with my life.
if you didn’t take this away from the last two post i love Photography and i love design, so when i get to do both in one project I’m in heaven. this Project i got to create a logo and wine label and then do a photo shoot for it. I couldn’t have been more happy with the results. the lighting was perfect the label looks great and the water marked logo brought it all together!
